Jammu Kashmir Police is going to equip all the police stations and police posts with indoor and outdoor built CCTV cameras to make policing more ‘people-friendly.’
Reports said that 4,257 cameras will be installed at 251 police stations and 88 police posts across Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports added that these cameras will be installed within 3 months starting from this month.
According to official figures, they will have 3,000 outdoor bullet cameras, 1062 indoor dome cameras, 195 outdoor PTZ cameras and audio recording. The resolution of the outdoor camera will be around 1080p and the resolution of the indoor camera will be around 720p.
“The cameras can store up to 18 months of recording and can record up to seven days even when the Internet is down.”
Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir recently launched an app JKECop app that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple Store to easily access emergency services. Giving information, reporting traffic violations, seeking emergency assistance, case details, paying challan online, getting a character certificate, tenant/PG verification, etc., services are available through this application.
